Privacy policy
What data we collect, why, and your rights.
Last updated 20 October 2026.
This policy explains what personal data SnapForge collects, why, how long we keep it and what rights you have. We keep it short and in plain English.
1. Who is responsible for your data
SnapForge, based in Sheffield, United Kingdom, is responsible for your personal data. Contact: [email protected].
2. What we collect
- Design files. In the price calculator, your files are processed in your own browser and are not uploaded to our servers. We receive a file only when you attach it to an email to us.
- Order and contact details. When you send an order request or use a form on this site, your email app sends us the details you entered: for example name, email address, delivery postcode, order reference, notes and quote details.
- Emails. The content of emails you send us and our replies.
- Delivery details. Your delivery address and phone number, if you give them, to deliver your order.
- Payment details. Online card payment is not live yet. When it is, payments will be handled by a payment provider and we will not store your card number.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect the site.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
- To prepare quotes, process orders, make and deliver parts, and answer your questions — contract, or steps you asked for before a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
- To keep the website secure and working — legitimate interests.
We do not sell your data and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
4. Who we share it with
- Partner workshops that make your parts receive your files and specification, under confidentiality terms. They receive your name and delivery details only if they ship directly to you.
- DPD (our courier) receives your name, delivery address, email and phone number to deliver your order.
- Service providers that host our website and email, including Cloudflare (website hosting), Google Fonts (fonts) and jsDelivr (3D viewer code), which receive your IP address when you load the site.
- Authorities where the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
- Order records and invoices: 6 years, for tax and accounting.
- Design files: deleted on request, or 12 months after your last order.
- Enquiries that do not lead to an order: up to 12 months.
7. Cookies and local storage
This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. If you use “View desktop site”, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage on your device only. A saved quote link stores your options in the link itself.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it. Email [email protected]. We reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk.
9. Changes
We will update this page if we change how we use your data. The date at the top shows the latest version.
