How it works
From your file to your door in four simple steps. No account, no minimum order and no payment until we confirm the price.
1. Upload your file
Drag your 3D model or CAD file (STL, 3MF, OBJ, STEP, IGES and more) or a flat drawing (DXF, DWG, AI, EPS, PDF) into the price calculator on the home page. The file is read in your browser: it is not uploaded to our servers at this stage. We measure its size and volume and show a price straight away.
2. Choose your options
Choose how the part should be made, the material, the surface finish, the precision, how many you need and how fast. The price updates as you change each option. If you are unsure, keep the defaults — they suit most parts. Every option is explained in plain words, and our FAQ covers the rest.
3. Send your order request
Press “Order now”, enter your name, email and delivery postcode, and your email app opens with the order details ready. Attach your file and send it. Online card payment is not available yet, so you do not pay at this point.
4. We confirm, make and deliver
An engineer checks your file, usually within 24 hours on working days, and confirms the final price and dispatch date by email. When you accept and pay, a trusted Sheffield workshop makes your part. Every part is checked before it ships, then delivered by DPD next-day courier anywhere in the UK.
How the price is worked out
The online price is an estimate calculated from your file and options. The main factors are:
- Size and volume — how much material the part uses and how long it takes to make.
- Process and material — for example, steel costs more to machine than aluminium.
- Finish and precision — coatings and tighter sizes add work.
- Quantity — set-up costs are shared, so larger batches cost less per part.
- Speed — Economy is cheaper; Express costs more.
All prices include VAT at 20%. Delivery is £9.95, or free for orders of £150 or more. The final price is always confirmed by email before you pay.
No 3D file?
You can still order. Email us a sketch, a photo with measurements, a PDF drawing or the old part you want copied. We will tell you what is possible and send a price. Contact us →
